Black Water

In this fifth installment of the Pendragon Adventures, Bobby goes to Eelong to help Gunny save Eelong. Barely three minuets after getting out of the flume, Bobby gets an unwelcome greeting by the thought-to-be quig. The only off thing about this is that unlike yellow eyes that all quigs, this creature had red eyes. He realizes this when he gets back in the flume. The real quigs are something that no one will see coming. The quigs in this book are people! People! So if the people are quigs, then who are the inhabitants of Eelong? Why, nothing other than jungle cats. The cats call themselves klees. The people are called gars. Eelong is basically the opposite of Second Earth. Eelong is not polluted, and the people are kept as pets. And these are some cats that you don't want to mess with. These are not just any cats; these are jaguars. They could kill you without a second glance. When Seegan is killed on Second Earth by the Cloral Plauge, Bobby realizes that Saint Dane is going to kill the gars. Meanwhile, Mark and Courtney learn how to be acolytes. They get a crash course when Seegan comes to Second Earth to warn them of the danger that Eelong is in. Mark and Courtney must bring the antidote from Cloral to Eelong. Who will survive this time? Will Saint Dane have his second territory? How will Spader react to a hot girl like Courtney? Will Kasha follow in her father's footsteps and become the Traveler from Eelong? Find out in "Black Water." I liked this book because the plot is very tragic. I give this book my highest rating: 5 stars. I am truly excited about what else is to come from D.J. MacHale.

The Reality Bug

At the end of "The Never War", Aja Killan, the traveler from Veelox, contacts Bobby to tell him that Saint Dane has slippedpast her "seemingly" perfect secerity system and that he was on Veelox. As Bobby and Gunny reach Veelox, they see Saint Dane leaving for Eelong. He says that they were too late; that Veelox has already crumbled. Gunny follows Saint Dane to Eelong, leaving Bobby to try his best to save Veelox. Bobby meets Aja in her real body, whereas in previous meetings, she was just a floating head. They also meet her acolyt, Evangeline. It is in this book that Bobby discovers what an acolyte does. He also discovers the "pleasurse" of blue gloid (major sarcasam) . He also sees the pleasure of lifelight and ultimate escapisim. In fact, it's because of lifelight that Bobby is here. Too many people are in lifelight to take care of their houses and people that they love. Aja sees this and creates a virus that will make lifelight less than perfect. Unfortunitly, Saint Dane helps her make the reality bug, as Aja calls it, and makes it deadly for the user (jumper). Aja buries the bug deeply into the software of lifelight. When things go haywire, Bobby travels to Zadda to get help from Loor to get into the jump of the creator of lifelight. Unfortunitly, I can't give away more information. Will territory #4 be Saint Dane's first territory? Find out in "The Reality Bug." This book was great. It had more twists than last time. Every time you think you know what will happen, you will see that you couldn't be more wrong. To rate this, I would have to give it 4.5 stars because of all of the twists and turns in the plot.

The Never War

This story begins with Bobby and Spader fluming to Veelox to try to catch Saint Dane. Unfortunetly, (which usually comes before something that Saint Dane has done,) he leads them on a wild goose chase and then goes to First Earth. When the pair reach First Earth, Saint Dane sets a suprise for them, a pair of gang members. They openly rob them and do the old-fashioned trap-them-on-the-train-tracks. Luckily, Gunny, the Traveler from First Earth, steps in and saves their lives. Unfortunetly (for once, this is not about Saint Dane) they can't save the ring. They go to the hotel where Gunny works. They get attacked time and time again. They save the opposing gangleader and join his gang. Quig: dogs? Will Bobby save the Hindenburg? Will Saint Dane have his first Territory? Will Bobby do the right thing? Will Spader win Bobby at basketball? Will Crista go back out with me? Find out in The Never War. This book has many twists and turns that I can garentee that readers will love. With nonstop action, humor, and conflict after conflict after conflict, you will never want to put this book down. I know I didn't. To rate this book, I would have to give it 3.5 stars because the plot was semi-confusing.

The Lost City of Faar

Bobby and his Uncle Press travel to the territory of Cloral, a territory that is completly underwater. There they meet the Traveler, Spader. They live , temporarily, on the floting city of Graillon. Grailon crashes into another city, the city's underwater farms had been poisoned and happened to have Spader's father on it. His dad is the traveler before he is killed (inderectly) by Saint Dane. The duo have to then inform Spader that he is the Traveler from Cloral. The three then have to 1: go to Capitol city to find Spader's mom and to talk to the underwater farm buro about the deadly fertilizer. 2: find the lost city of Faar to get their help to deactivate the poison. Unfortunitly, Saint Dane also finds the city and destroys the underwater paradise. But before the Faarians go down, they try to send out boats to kill the poison. Unfortunitly, Saint Dane destroys the exit. Quig: Shark. Who will Survive this time? Review: I loved this book. I almost cried at the end because someone close to Bobby hits the bucket. Rating: 4 stars.

Pendragon Book 1: The Merchant of Death

Bobby Pendragon is just a normal kid. He has everything a guy could want. A home, a loving family, a coolio Uncle, and even a hot girlfriend, Courtney Chetwynde. But All of that changes when his Uncle Press barges in on Bobby and Courtney kissing to take Bobby away from Stony Brook. He tells him that he is a Traveler, someone who travels through time and space to other territories to save them from collapsing into chaous. The duo also try to stop Saint Dane from doing the opposite, even though Saint Dane is also a Traveler. So Bobby unwillingly becomes a Travler and is flumed of to Denduron. Flumes are the way Travlers get from territory to territory. So reading the letters that Bobby sends home to his own territory,Second Earth, Mark Dimond, geek and Bobby's best friend, realizes that Bobby's adventure to Denduron could be life threatning. Heck, with Saint Dane, Denduron, and the rest of Halla, every person and thing on every territory, I would wet my pants so much that they would be yellow. Also, he meets Loor and Osa. The Travlers from Zadda. He also learns that even though the person who you'd least expect can be an enemy. Quig: bear.
I'm not going to give away the whole story. Now the review. I got confused at the beginning of the book because it was written like a journal and I thought that it was written like a regular book. It goes from Bobby's life and then what goes on at Second Earth. All in all, I would recommend this book to people ages 10 and up for the occasional swear word. I would give this story:three stars.
